Spring Break Giveaway!

**Update: This giveaway is now closed**

Because I'm random and like to give things to people :)

Hey, this is my first giveaway, whaddyaknow? Cool!

It's Spring Break this coming week for most of the schools here in the US, and I figure that's occasion enough for a giveaway. Any objections? =D

Anyway, so here's the goodies:

1)

Detail:

A sturdy, lined notebook- has a blue cover with an awesome compass-star design on the front.

Plus-- a pack of colored pens! I personally use these pens, and they're my current fave. They work great, and the more colors the better when it come to editing, right?

or 2)

The Roman Britain Trilogy by Rosemary Sutcliff. Includes The Eagle of the Ninth, The Silver Branch, and The Lantern Bearers. (They're the newest versions of the books as well!)

My favorite book ever, plus two. Seriously though, The Eagle of the Ninth is one of the greatest books I've ever read.

So, how do you enter??  Read on:

Mandatory entry:
-Comment and tell me your favorite book, or favorite writing medium (pen & paper, computer, dirty windows....).

Extra Entries:
-Follow me if you feel so inclined :) {worth 1 more entry} (if you're already a follower, that counts as well.)
-Follow one of my followers/people I follow, and tell me who in the comment. {worth 2 more entries!} (Those you are already following don't count.)
-Blog about the giveaway. {worth 1 entry}
-Posting on FB or Twitter or stuff like that. {worth 1 entry each}
-Or lastly...

Put this button in your sidebar. Haha, I don't think I really needed a button, but I was so excited to have a giveaway that I couldn't resist :P

Castles, Quills, and Cameras

{worth 2 entries}

The entry time will run for exactly a week. The giveaway will close on March 26th at 11:59 PM.

Hee hee hee!!

Hee hee.... I'm sorry, I think I like this whole giveaway business. I'm giggling...  oh dear... *giggles some more*

I feel like this seal... sort of....

*Gasps* choose only ONE favorite book?!? I will simply have to choose one of many favorites... does that work? ;)
Hmm... one that is slightly more of a classic: A wrinkle in time by Madeleine L'Engle (and all the the other books in the series!)

Well it appears other acquaintances beat me to the entering(Joryn, Raquel..and I don't think I know Lauren)..but all is not lost yet. Someone must represent the rest of the population. :D

My favorite book would probably be: Beyond The Reflection's Edge by Bryan Davis.

My favorite writing medium would be "Scrivner for Windows Beta 2.0"(As we wait for the release...)

I follow your blog :)

I have Facebooked 'it'.

The following thing would be easy entries...but it bugs me to follow blogs I don't use. I purge my followed blogs every few weeks when I'm feeling really down so I probably shouldn't mess with more bloggers' follower numbers. :P (Aka. No extra following entries)

Really like the pens as a giveaway item! I got some colored ones for Christmas and they hang proudly on my tack board! Love those buggers :D Got two really nice ones(Plus a cool bonus pen) for my Birthday as well and those are only used for writing or special notes to self!

Pens=Fun :)

The Director said...

Thanks Lauren! *hugs*

Hey, I understand Mil, about the following stuff- I just did that because I thought it would be neat to give other people more followers instead of just me ;) ... good to see you by the way! *waves--and doesn't stagger around* :P

Heh, you'll LOVE Scriv! It's amazing.

Millardthemk said...

Oh yeah! I think the idea on your part is really good ;D It's like...well yeah, it's just like a dual giveaway where you reciprocate the following to eachothers blog.

I got Silverangel to screen share with me on skype...and I walked *him* through it. *chuckles* Yes, I talked to the/one of the coders/makers about the note function. *frown* It's kinda...not ergonomically sound, but he likes it, and he coded it..So it stays. >_< :P

YAY FOR GIVEAWAYS! I love them... even though I normally don't win. I would love to win this one though. You're giving away some epic stuff!

Okay, so, to start off. I believe your first question is un-fare. ;) BUT I would have to say an of the James Harriot books. Love 'em.

Georgianna Penn said...

So... I follow you. ;)

The Director said...

Nice Mil :)

I'm sorry Georgianna :P I'm just mean like that XD Hey, and thanks for entering! *hugs*

I posted about your giveaway on Twitter. I would give you a link, but my profile is private and it would be pointless. ;) So, you can trust me on this one, or not. :P

That looks awesome btw. I like the journal! :D

Okay, favorite book:
(I can't choose, so I'm just picking my current favorite)
Johnny Tremain.

Favorite Writing Medium:
My Laptop.......but when I have to write on paper, I like loose leaf paper and black ink pens. ;) Not the cheap kind, but the nice BIC RSVP kind. ;)

I love your blog! ;) It's really cool!!!!

Ok, if I had to choose only one favorite book, besides the Bible, it would have to be A Star Curiously Singing by Kerry Nietz. LOVE it!! I love that seal pic!

Jake said...

GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! *wants to read The Eagle of the Ninth* I put a hold on it at the library...I'm eighth in line. XP

So I shall enter!

1)
Favorite book? *grinds teeth* Gack. Ehhhh....this is hard. *chews on lip* Er...the Bible. :P I asked myself, what book impacted me the most? The Bible. *shrug* Since I think you're meaning FICTION ;)...hmm.

Off the top of my head, I'm most excited about Jill Williamson's books right now. So, By Darkness Hid. Or Sword in the Stars. Pick one.

2)

Thanks! This is a really cool giveaway!

Well...unfortunately for me (only because of the giveaway, otherwise, I couldn't care less) I don't have a facebook, a twitter, and I can't follow you, or any other blog. Neither do I have a blog of my own. If you would, you could count that I unofficially follow Jake's blog (you can ask him: if he's not too mean, he will vouch that I have commented there ;)), and maybe now yours...but it's up to you. :) *Begs telepathically*

Anyway, I can answer those questions!!

1) Favorite book: I have many, but I will choose just one. Or a few. Anyway. I LOVE Fiddler's Gun & Fiddler's Green by A. S. Peterson. The Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson (Love the Peterson bros). I also like the Mysterious Benedict Society among many others. You may choose whichever one you please. :)

2) I usually write on the computer, but I carry with me a mini notebook and pen to write down random ideas throughout the day. :)

Man...I want to win!!! :)

Thanks for posting this giveaway!!!

Hi Abby! I've been to your blog before. You always have great stuff to read when I'm here.

My current favorite book keeps changing, because I keep finding a new and better book. Nonetheless, currently it is "Greyfriars Bobby" by Eleanor Atkinson. I have a review on my blog if you want to read about it.

I'm SO glad I found this giveaway, because I'm immensely interested in the Rosemary Sutcliff books... it'd be soo neat to win them!

My favourite book would have to be Lord of the Rings (and yes, that does count as one, b/c it was written as one but the editor decided to split it up). I do have to agree, though, that 'The Eagle of the Ninth' is a pure masterpiece. I love Rosemary Sutcliff.

I just started following you, and I follow Qui, one of your followers.

And that's all I can do right now b/c I need to get going. Just wondering, though, is this contest international? B/c I'm in Canada...

God bless,
~Elanor

Elanor Lawrence, I wouldn't call the contest completely international, but I live just south of you in the US, so you're welcome to enter, for sure! 'Cause Canada's not that far away, you know? :) Thanks for checking!

Whoa... lots of comments. :D

(one of many) favorite book is Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, I believe. Morbid, I know. >_> Yet I love that book.

I follow (1)

I just followed "All that is Gold" (2) Strangely enough, I thought I was already following it, but apparently not... odd...

I like to write on a white board when I'm outlining...although I think writing on a window would be even cooler.

I try to write on the computer because I'm an editing fanatic. It was hard for awhile...I get more inspired with pen and paper...especially if it's a nice journal. Now, I get frustrated with pen and paper because I can't edit as easily and frequently (sometimes a good thing).

My favorite fiction "book" at the moment is "Henry V", but I love WAY to many to count. :-)

I'm excited about your giveaway!

Miss Pickwickian said...

I put your blog button on my sidebar...which is the first time ever I've put anybodies button on my sidebar! It just matched the colors so nicely.
