Oh. My. Word. (aka First Video from the set of The Hobbit!)

YES. Yes.  YES.

'Tis the first video from the set of The Hobbit, my friends, with Pete himself walking us through the different departments of pre-production, as well as the days leading up to Day 1 of shooting, and the beginning of that wonderful, celebratory day.

So, no, no clips per se, though we do get to see a take of Bilbo picking up the Ring for the first time (squeal!!), and we get to see some blocking with the dwarves in Bag End.

Enjoy, my friends.

I loved the last words. :) I'm pretty sure the voice is Martin Freeman's, isn't it?

*squeals with insane excitement* YEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh. My. Goodness. I'm so excited! It's finally beginning!

Is it weird for me to say got a lovely warm fuzzy/almost nostalgic feeling watching this video? Did anyone just bubble over with a happy, "Ahh, back in the shire at last" feeling at the end of the video?

I was actually kind of leery about The Hobbit for awhile, I actually didn't really want them to make it, until I found out Peter Jackson was in after all. Now I'm totally stoked. If he wasn't enough to get my excited, Richard Armitage is!

I totally can't wait now!

Oh yes, you were right. It's Int. I knew that, but I wrote Ent. :P Thanks for bringing it up though, otherwise I would have continued to look like I had no idea what I was talking about. ;)

I'm beginning to love flashbacks as well! You can get SO much information into one little flashback. *sigh* <3

Oh hey, no problem :)
I know! Flashbacks, when placed well, can be SO much more effective than dialogue even could be, and they do other things as well, but yeah-- keep up the script writing! *cheers*

OH MY GOODNESS! I loved watching the Appendices on the other three LotR special editions, and this is great!!! I can't wait to actually see a J.R.R. Tolkien film IN THEATERS!!

The Director said...

I KNOW! Me too!!! I will finally see a Lotr (sort of), Tolkien (technically), Peter Jackson film in theaters... :D
